Using TypeTimer

TypeTimer is a free, browser-based typing test. You may use it for personal, educational, or professional practice. Don't abuse the service (for example, by scraping at volume or attempting to disrupt it).

Results and certificates

Test results and result cards are generated on your device from your own typing and are self-administered. If you purchase a verified certificate ($4.99, one-time, paid via Stripe), we store the certified name and score against a unique verification ID so third parties can confirm the certificate is genuine at /verify. Verification confirms the document is unaltered — it does not prove who was at the keyboard, and we make no guarantee that any third party (such as an employer) will accept it. Certificate purchases are for a digital good delivered immediately; if something goes wrong with your claim, contact us and we'll make it right.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the timing and scoring math correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation, and we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site.

Your data

Results and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage under your control. See the privacy policy for details. Clearing your browser data deletes your history; we cannot restore it because we never had it.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.
