What verification means
When someone buys a TypeTimer certificate, we store the certified result — name, net WPM, accuracy, test length, and issue date — against a unique ID, and print that ID on the certificate itself. Anyone holding the certificate (a recruiter, a school, a client) can enter the ID here and see exactly what we recorded. If the details on the document don't match the details on this page, the document has been altered.
What verification does not mean: the test is self-administered in the typist's own browser, like every online typing test. Verification proves the certificate is genuine and unedited — it does not prove who was at the keyboard. For high-stakes hiring, treat a verified certificate as strong evidence and retest in person if the role demands it.

- How do I verify a TypeTimer certificate?
- Enter the verification ID printed on the certificate (it looks like TT-XXXXX-XXXXX) in the field above. A valid ID returns the name, WPM, accuracy, test length, and issue date we hold on record. Compare those against the document you were given.
- What does an invalid ID mean?
- Either the ID was mistyped — check 0 vs O and similar look-alikes, though our IDs avoid the most ambiguous characters — or the certificate was not issued by TypeTimer. We only return a match for IDs we actually issued.
- Does verifying prove who took the test?
- No. The test runs in the typist's own browser, so verification proves the certificate is genuine and unaltered, not who was typing. That is true of every online typing certificate; employers who need certainty should retest under supervision.
- Is there a fee to verify?
- No. Verification is free, requires no account, and can be done by anyone with the ID, any number of times.
