Screen candidates with verified typing tests
A typing test for hiring that doesn't need accounts, software, or per-seat pricing. Buy a pack, send candidates one link, and get verified WPM results back on a private results page, each one backed by a certificate anyone can check.
One-time payment through Stripe. Credits don't expire; candidates pay nothing.
How it works
Buy the pack
Pay $29, enter your company or team name, and get two links: a candidate link to share and a private results link to bookmark. That's the whole setup.
Send candidates the link
Each candidate sees "your company has asked you to take a 3-minute typing test", takes the same locked test — 3 minutes, real sentences — and enters their name.
Results come to you
Names, net WPM, accuracy, and a certificate ID appear on your private results page as candidates finish. No chasing screenshots.
What you get for $29
- 10 verified certificates — one per submitted result, each with a unique ID checkable at typetimer.com/verify.
- A candidate test page with your organization's name on it, locked to the same 3-minute test for every candidate.
- A private results dashboard: candidate names, WPM, accuracy, certificate IDs, dates, and a credits meter.
- Server-validated scoring with the standard net-WPM formula — the same engine as every TypeTimer test.
A screening signal, not a proctored exam
Candidates take the test in their own browser, unsupervised — the same way every online typing test for employment works, including the expensive ones. We don't pretend otherwise. What you get that a screenshot or a self-reported number can't give you: every result is scored server-side, recorded against a certificate ID at the moment of the test, and locked to the same 3-minute format for every candidate. If a result matters, you can verify the certificate in seconds — and for high-stakes roles, retest your finalist in person at interview.
Use it the way staffing agencies use any screening step: to filter early, cheaply, and consistently. If a role needs 50 WPM and a candidate submits 32, you've saved an interview slot for $2.90 — a tenth of a pack. Typical requirements by role — data entry, admin, transcription — are in our guide to typing speed requirements for jobs.
Who this is for
Staffing and recruiting agencies screening for data entry, admin, customer support, and transcription roles. Schools and training programs that want a consistent end-of-course typing assessment with a certificate students keep. Employers who list a WPM requirement and want the same test applied to every applicant instead of a folder of screenshots from different sites with different word lists — scores aren't comparable across sites, which is exactly why a single shared test is worth having.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the typing test proctored?
- No. Candidates take it self-administered in their own browser, like every online typing test. Each result is scored server-side and carries a verifiable certificate recorded at test time, so the number can't be edited after the fact — but it doesn't prove who was at the keyboard. Treat it as a screening signal and retest finalists in person if the role demands certainty.
- Do candidates pay anything?
- No. Candidates never see a price or a payment screen. You buy the pack; each submitted result uses one of your credits and the candidate gets their verified certificate free, including the PNG download.
- Do the test credits expire?
- No. Unused credits stay on your pack until you use them. There is no subscription and no renewal — buy another pack only when you run out.
- What test do candidates take?
- Everyone gets the same locked format: 3 minutes of real English sentences, timer starting on the first keystroke. Candidates can practice with fresh text before submitting; only submitting a result uses a credit. Scores use the standard net WPM formula (gross WPM minus uncorrected errors per minute) plus accuracy and consistency.
- How do I verify a candidate's certificate?
- Every result on your dashboard shows a certificate ID (format TT-XXXXX-XXXXX). Enter it at typetimer.com/verify to see the name, WPM, accuracy, test length, and issue date on record — the same public registry used for all TypeTimer certificates.
- What if I need more than 10 tests?
- Buy another pack — each one is $29 for 10 verified certificates and comes with its own candidate and results links. If you're screening at a volume where that gets clumsy, email Mark@Reinventing.AI and we'll sort something out.
